The mother of two died on Monday, November 10, at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after battling leukemia.
His funeral was held on Sunday, November 16.
How did Betty Bayo’s brothers respect him?
During the honorable event, Betty’s brothers, led by Charles Gatimu, stood in the pulpit to pay respect to their beloved sister.
Gatimu, surrounded by four other brothers, spoke with great emotion, reflecting on their grief and respect for his life.
“Our sister Bayo, today would be another day to be with you laughing and talking, and even discussing, but you are now silent. There is no word, no song, and no happy flirting. It is a surprising and heartbreaking thing to face your absence. To many, you were a talented gospel singer and voice of hope, but to us, you were our little sister, happy, and loving. Your journey was not always easy, but if courage was a person, it would be you—Betty Bayo.” Gatim studied.
He continued: “As a family, we were blessed to know the real Betty—the one who loved loud, cared so much, and held us together in amazing ways. We thank God for your life and the family you left us. Your love, inspiration, and respect you brought us will always be remembered. We will miss you so much. It’s still hard for us to understand why you couldn’t stay with us longer. We hoped you would overcome your health problems, but now we see that you have said your last goodbye. Although it seems impossible, we are beginning to see that you have left and you will not return, but we hope to meet again one day.”

However, the family made the final decision.
Family spokesman, Elder David Kigomo, revealed the date and place where the remains of the singer will be buried.
The family has decided to bury Bayo on Thursday, November 20, next week.
He will be buried in Mugumo Estate along Kiambu Road, where he had bought a piece of land.
“The last service will be held at the Christian Foundation Fellowship (CFF) church along Kiambu Road, where Bayo used to attend the service,” Kigomo said.
