On Friday, October 31, heavy rains caused numerous rock falls, as well as flash floods, and many people lost their lives in villages along the Kerio Valley.
Residents were shocked by the turn of events, and according to the authorities, the heavy rain caused a lot of water to flow down the slopes of Kerio, known for its steepness.
During the agonizing night, heavy rains washed debris and large rocks into houses and farms across Marakwet East and Marakwet West sub-counties.
