Betty Bayo: Beloved Gospel Musician Dies, Report of What Killed Her Emerges

On Monday, November 10, Kenyans woke up to a series of Facebook messages about Betty Bayo.

Betty was married to Pastor Kanyari, and they later divorced following the “310” scandal, then she found love with Hiram Gitau, known as Tosh.

Bishop Ben Kiengei mourned him saying:

“Beatrice Wairimu Mbugua popularly known as Betty Bayo, became known after releasing her song Eleventh Hour, a song that was well received due to its encouraging message. Living a life of glorifying God and doing business, the mother of two has been a happy artist until recently she was diagnosed with leukemia (Leukemia).

He has left a great legacy in the growth of the gospel music industry, friendship and a spirit that fully utilized his talents. He has rested after serving his purpose well… Sorry to his mother, husband, brothers, friends, fellow musicians and his beautiful children. Rest in peace Betty Bayo, cancer will also die one day.”
