The Governor of Siaya, James Orengo, brought a comic strip to Raila Odinga’s home in Opoda Farm. He was among those who welcomed the leader of the Wiper Party, Kalonzo Musyokawho came to pay respects to the former prime minister.

Raila and Kalonzo have a long political history, having twice teamed up for the presidency.
In the 2013 General Election, Raila ran for the presidency with Kalonzo as his running mate under the Union for Reform and Democracy, but they were defeated by Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto of the Jubilee Alliance.

In 2017, Raila ran again under the National Super Alliance, again choosing Kalonzo as his deputy, but the two were defeated by Kenyatta and Ruto again.
During his visit to Opoda Farm, Kalonzo handed over 100 cows to Ida Odinga.
Accompanied by members of the Wiper Democratic Movement, the Kamba Council of Elders, and representatives from the religious community, Musyoka explained that the symbol symbolized respect, unity, and lasting friendship between the Kamba and Luo communities.
During the visit, one of the elders gave Orengo a walking stick, prompting a dramatic scene from the governor.
“My learned brother. He is a progressive man, he is fearless. This is the king of Ukambani; he will give you this stick,” Kalonzo said.
An old man walked up to the front.
“I knew you when you were in school, and you fought for your classmates. Then he fought for Kenya and continues to lead us,” he said and handed the stick to Orengo.
Immediately after receiving the gift, Orengo started running while shouting, “Jowi.” Kalonzo burst out laughing as the crowd joined in.
Orengo ran around vigorously as he held out his walking stick. Ida Odinga was also happy when she watched the concert continue.
Then he ran back to the tent where the dignitaries were sitting.
