The Addison Police Department visits the home of Pauline Williams
“Officers entered the residence and discovered the body of an elderly woman who appeared to have been deceased for some time,” the Addison Police Department told People.
The deceased was identified as Pauline Williams, a 69-year-old woman who appeared to have been dead for a long time.
The cause of death was not yet known as the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office and police continued their investigation.
Gary McIntyre, a neighbour, expressed regret for not informing his neighbours, saying he would have noticed something wrong.

Pauline Williams’ mailbox is full
Williams’ mailbox was full, and there were weeds in her backyard, indicating that it hadn’t been tended to in a long time.
Police said they were looking for relatives of the deceased in hopes of getting answers about what may have led to Williams’ death.
“I think that was the shocking part of it. It reminds me to check on my neighbors more often, be friendly, and hope that this doesn’t happen to you one day,” Austin Mathews said.
Netizens were touched by the death of Pauline Williams
The news sparked mixed reactions among social media users, many of whom said they had more questions than answers.
Joyce Vann: “This is a generational issue that we, as elders, often discuss with other elders. Many today do not hear from their children or grandchildren. We understand that they are busy adults with work, children, and their own responsibilities. We know that we can die in our home for many days and without fail.”

Azure Bradger: “It’s sad that the only reason anyone came looking for him was because he defaulted on his mortgage and the house was sold to someone else who didn’t even expect to find him.”
Karen Gaither: “I saw the news, and they didn’t mention that the house was in foreclosure. Maybe in foreclosure, you’re buying on the courthouse steps, so there’s no pictures from the realtor and no inspection. I think he passed away, and that might be why he didn’t pay his bills and the house went into foreclosure.”
Shawn RaChel Godfrey: “The family wants privacy now that he’s dead, but they didn’t care enough to check on him when he was alive.”
