Kanyari, who gained fame years ago after asking believers to “plant seeds” of KSh 310 for blessings, admitted during a recent sermon that he loves money.

Why does Kanyari love money?

He further explained why he believes that money plays an important role in creating relationships and influencing forces.

In a video that went viral, Kanyari boldly declared that money has the power to change people’s perception of a person, often leading to fake love or romance.

“I really like money. Money changes people’s opinions; those who didn’t like you start loving you. Money even makes your mother call you father, and girls call you daddy. It’s not you who loves you, it’s your money. Don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s you who love you,” he said, something that caused laughter among the believers.

According to the preacher, many types of love or admiration that people receive often have hidden motives related to financial gains. He said that even in religion, influence or politics, wealth determines respect and attention.

Kanyari then turned to politics, claiming that the presidential candidate who will win the 2027 General Election will not win by popularity or policy, but by his financial strength.

“If they don’t have money, who will listen to them? Where will they find the strength to stand on top of a car and address people?” he joked, urging his followers to check their bank balances before thinking of becoming leaders.
