ODM party leader, Oburu Oginga, has opened up about his relationship with his late brother, Raila Odinga.

Raila died on Wednesday, October 15, in India, where he was receiving treatment, and was buried with national honors in the Kang’o Ka Jaramogi region on Sunday, October 19. dinga.
Three weeks after his burial, Raila’s grave continues to receive visitors from all over the world.
In an interview with NTVOburu explained how close they were and how selfless Raila was.
Was Raila Odinga good to Oburu Oginga?
He disclosed that Raila used to share any gift given to him if he was given more than one.
“There was a lot of love between me and him. I remember when he was receiving gifts from friends, including clothes, and if someone had given him three, he would give me one. We used to wear shoes and clothes of the same size. He used to share his gifts with me,” he remembered Oburu.
Oburu recalls the conversation about Jaramogi’s property with Raila
The Siaya senator, who rose to the highest position in the ODM leadership following Raila’s death, also recalled their last conversation about their father’s property, which they managed together.
According to Oburu, they discussed the importance of handing over the property to their children to avoid family conflicts after their death.
“We were discussing many things. Surprisingly, I told him that there are still a few unfinished things in the family, including the Jaramogi property that we were managing together. I told him that if we don’t finish all these issues regarding property, and there are still shares, remember life is not permanent. If anything happens to me or you, we will all leave. I don’t see these young people uniting like you and me. There may be conflicts between them. So let’s try to finish some of these things. It was like I was feeling something. I was I said that, and he agreed with me. Before we could do anything, this disease occurred, and he died.” he said.

Can Oburu Oginga run for president?
As previously reported, ODM Secretary General, Edwin Sifunaconfirmed that the party intends to present its presidential candidate in 2027. Sifuna rejected an internal proposal that advocated an alliance with President William Ruto.

He aimed to refute the notion that the party currently does not have a stable leadership following the death of Raila, stressing that there are leaders with great potential to lead the ODM party in the near future.
The Nairobi senator said that interim leader Oburu, along with governors Abdulswamad Nassir of Mombasa and Simba Arati of Kisii, are people with qualities suitable for running for the presidency.
