According to the official DUA website, the organization is a continental alliance of more than 25 centrist political parties representing all regions of Africa.
It serves as the African branch of the International Democratic Union (IDU) and unites parties that promote democracy, individual freedom, a market-driven economy, and transparent governance.
Beyond being a network, DUA positions itself as a fraternity of political activists working to defend democratic institutions, increase citizen participation, and defend freedoms across the continent.
