In her earlier interview with Ramogi TV, which has resurfaced, she revealed that Raila’s mother was her aunt, which is why Jaramogi did not pay a cow for her dowry.

“The reason for not bringing the cow is because Raila and his mother Oburu is the first born in their house. My father was the second born and then the third child. And since he (Jaramogi) married my aunt, when he married, he only paid in cash. And he did not intend to. We had gone to the farm in Opoda, and I was called from where I was to get into the van, and he was the one driving the car. I reached the Yala River where my heart was if you bounce,” he said.

According to Betty, she didn’t know where they were going until they got to her mother’s house.

“He called my mother and told her that whatever was in the pot was what he should have given us. And that we are not strangers. Then he said he came to marry. And the way I looked was very dirty. He said I don’t live the life they thought, that’s why he brought me mud,” he added.
