Mombasa Air Safari Limited Releases Details of the 11 Passengers Killed in the Kwale Plane Crash

For – Mombasa Air Safari Limited has released new information about the plane crash in the Tsimba area.

In an official statement, the company confirmed that its aircraft, registration number 5Y-CCA, operating a scheduled flight, crashed and caught fire on Tuesday, October 28.

Mombasa Air Safari Limited said the plane was on its way from Diani Airport to Kichwa Tembo in Maasai Mara region when it crashed.

“Mombasa Air Safari Limited regrets to confirm that one of our aircraft, registration number 5Y-CCA was involved in an accident today, October 28, while operating a scheduled flight from Diani Airport to Kichwa Tembo, Maasai Mara,” Mombasa Air Safari boss John Cleave said.

Who died in the plane crash in Kwale?

In the statement, the company revealed that the plane was carrying eight Hungarian citizens, two German citizens and one Kenyan, who was the pilot.

Sadly, all the passengers perished in the tragic accident. The company sends its condolences to all the affected families.

“We are very sorry to report that, according to initial reports, there were 10 passengers, 8 Hungarians, 2 Germans, and one Kenyan crew member (captain) on board. Sadly, there are no survivors. Our hearts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragic event,” Cleave said.

Mombasa Air Safari announced that they have formed a team to provide the necessary support to all the families affected by the accident.

“We have set up our emergency response team and are cooperating fully with the relevant authorities, who have started their investigation. Our main focus right now is to provide all possible support to the affected families. A family support team has been set up to provide counselling, logistical coordination and any necessary assistance,” the company said.

Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula and Minister of Mines Hassan Joho they issued a statement, mourning the victims of the plane crash.

“My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends, and loved ones of all those who perished in the tragic Mombasa Air Safari plane crash that killed all eleven people on board. What was meant to be an exciting event showcasing the breathtaking beauty and splendor of the Maasai Mara turned into a heartbreaking tragedy,” Wetang’ula said.

On his part, Joho said, “I offer my sincere and heartfelt condolences to the families, relatives and friends of the people affected by the tragic plane crash in Kwale today. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. May God Almighty give you strength and comfort to bear this tragedy.”

What time did the plane crash in Kwale county happen?

Earlier, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) issued a statement saying that the plane operating as RRV203 from Diani to Kichwa Tembo crashed in Simba area in Kwale at 05:30 am.
