Kwale: 12 people feared dead when planes crash in Tsimba Golini area

According to a statement released by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), the plane that had a fatal accident was en route from Diani to Kichwa Tembo when the accident occurred.

The tragic accident happened on Tuesday, October 28, at about 5:30 am.

“The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) wishes to confirm that the aircraft with registration number 5Y-CCA, which was en route from Diani to Kichwa Tembo, crashed at 0530Z,” the KCAA statement read in part.

The police said that the victims of the accident are said to be tourists.

KCAA Director Emile N. Rao said that government agencies had already reached the area to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Witnesses reported that the plane burst into flames immediately after impact. Pictures, believed to be from the scene, showed the wreckage of the plane engulfed in flames.
