The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has officially endorsed the President’s comprehensive government plan William Ruto until 2027.

The decision was reached during a meeting of the Central Management Committee (CMC) held in a hotel in Nairobi and led by acting party leader Oburu Oginga.
The meeting brought together senior ODM officials, including governors Gladys Wanga and Abdulswamad Sherrif Nassir, along with other senior leaders of the party.
Will ODM support Ruto until 2027?
In a statement read by the Secretary General of ODM Edwin Sifunathe party reaffirmed its commitment to cooperation guided by a 10-point agenda aimed at promoting peace, stability, and national unity.

“We emphasize the party’s commitment to a broad government until 2027, a relationship guided by the 10-point agenda established for peace and stability in our country,” Sifuna said.
He reminded members that the deceased Raila Odinga he had built ODM on the basis of values, democracy, equality, inclusion, and truth. According to him, these principles must continue to guide the movement even when Raila is gone.
Sifuna urged members to avoid divisions and political conflicts that could weaken the foundation of the party following Raila’s death.
“Baba built this movement on the foundation of values, democracy, equality, inclusion, and truth. ODM is not just a political party—it is a covenant. A covenant that we, the living, must now renew. We must resist the temptation to disperse in despair or fight for political succession as leaders often do when giants fall,” Sifuna said.
He emphasized that ODM leaders have made a collective decision not to cause internal instability or pursue personal interests at the expense of Raila’s dream of a united nation.

The general secretary asked the members to stand firm in protecting the party’s integrity, which he said has made it one of the most trusted political bodies in the country.
“We promise here together, that as we did during the funeral, we will not be responsible for any division in the party or any unnecessary political turmoil that opposes Raila’s dream,” he added.
ODM Urges Ruto’s Government To Release Money Owed by Political Parties
During the meeting, ODM also requested the National Government to release the money owed by the party under the Political Parties Fund.
Sifuna said that the funds are important for maintaining operations and maintaining ODM’s basic activities. He noted that the best way to honor Raila Odinga’s legacy is to ensure that the party remains financially strong and that works to defend his ideas.
“We want to ask the National Government to be a part of the Constitution to fund political parties. There is a gap that looks like billions of money owed by the party. We believe that the best way for the government to respect Raila is to release the money owed by the party so that our activities can continue and the legacy of our leader can be found,” he said.
