According to Khalwale, the president will soon realize that he needs him to succeed in getting votes in Kakamega county.

“President Ruto, let me tell you, in 2027, things will be difficult for you. That is when you will realize that you need Khalwale here in Kakamega for him to succeed. That is when you will know that you need Seth Panyako in Malava for him to succeed,” Khalwale said.

Khalwale said that the administration of Kenya First Alliance should start development projects in Kakamega as a token of appreciation for the votes that the area gave to Ruto in 2022.

“The progress we demand is not because of any by-election votes. It is because we want thanks for the votes we gave to the President. Whether we support his candidate or ours, he will still need us in 2027,” the Kakamega senator said.

Khalwale further attacked the Prime Minister Stay Mudavadiaccusing him of lying to Ruto about his influence in Kakamega County.

According to Khalwale, Mudavadi cannot vote for Ruto in Western Kenya in the next election.

“Mudavadi, who is lying to you that he has influence here in Kakamega, if he really has any influence, let him start in Vihiga County. He is roaming around Kakamega because the ODM party broke Vihiga County,” he added.
