The family of the late veteran broadcaster Sammy Lui has finally shared the funeral arrangements for their relative, who died on Thursday, October 23.

Lui, who was the head of national ceremonies, was mourned by Kenyans who admired his skills and expertise in his position.
In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, a close source said that Lui had moved to Subukia, the county Nakuru.
The source said that Lui had been facing personal problems after his house in Woodley Estate, Nairobi, was demolished in 2024.
This forced him to move to Subukia, where he spent his last days.
When will Sammy Lui be buried?
According to a report by Citizen Digital, unlike a normal funeral, where the body of the deceased is buried, Lui’s body will be cremated.

The body of the former head of national ceremonies will be moved from Nakuru, where he lived, to the Lee Funeral Home in the country’s capital, Nairobi.
This will be held on Saturday, October 25, before a prayer meeting scheduled for Sunday, October 26, at his family home, starting at 8 p.m.
After that, on Monday, October 27, friends and family will gather at Lee Funeral Home for a viewing of Lui’s body and a prayer service.
The body of the deceased will be taken to Kariokor Mortuary, where he will be cremated.
Lui’s family said that a short service will be held before the body is cremated. The timing of the actual process has not been announced, but the family promised to announce it later.
Sammy Lui’s career history
Lui founded the English Broadcasting Service of Kenya, where he demonstrated his skills and knowledge of the English language.
He was also one of the founders of the Kenya Television Network (KTN), thus playing a role in shaping the country’s political environment.
In his younger years, Lui worked in the media’s studios and served as director of presidential events during the administration of the late former president. Mwai Kibaki.
His voice was common in government events. Following his position in the State House MC, he presided over many national holidays, parades and official events, which earned him respect from the political class.

Following the death of Lui, President William Ruto joined Kenyans in mourning the veteran broadcaster.
He took to his social media to pay emotional tributes to Lui, calling him one of the most respected Grand Master of State Ceremonies.

He ended his message by expressing his condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased.
