Kiambu: Residents are still in shock after a truck crashed into a hardware store on Saturday, October 25.

The disturbing incident which has caused several deaths is feared to have happened in the Mutarakwa area along the Limuru junction.

Pictures seen by TUKO.co.ke showed a truck on the roof of a hardware store, with its rear wheels hanging in the air.

A large crowd had gathered near the scene, with some trying to help in the rescue mission while others watched, probably in shock at the deadly incident.

The area has been cordoned off to allow rescue operations, while traffic is being diverted.

A witness tells about the accident in Kiambu

A person who witnessed the accident narrated how the events happened during the Kiambu accident.

He said that the incident occurred when the truck, which was reportedly transporting alcohol, lost control and hit a convenience store.

According to him, the truck appeared to have lost its brakes, causing the accident.

He also said that the co-driver broke his arm while trying to jump out of the wrecked truck.

“However, the driver died on the spot, and efforts to find his body are still ongoing. There was another passenger in the truck and we still do not know his condition,” he added.

The equipment had two customers inside, who he claimed were able to escape the incident unharmed.

Six died in a tragic accident in Nakuru

The latest incident happened a few hours after six people died in a fatal accident on the Nakuru-Gilgil Highway.

According to reports, the accident happened in Soysambu area in Mbaruk, a place that is considered famous for speeding.

The fatal accident involved a saloon car and a Promise Company bus, which was on its way Nakuru from Nairobi.

The private vehicle, which was carrying six men, was reportedly traveling to Nairobi from Poisonous. They were coming out of a funeral.

These two tragic incidents add to the growing number of road accidents that have been claiming the lives of innocent people.
