A long time aide of President William Ruto, Farouk Kibet, has claimed to be a former president Uhuru Kenyatta he plans to return to the political arena despite having completed his two constitutional terms.

Uhuru, who served as Kenya’s fourth president from 2013 to 2022, has recently appeared more active in the political arena, attending a number of important events and resuming engagement with former allies.
Speaking at a public meeting held in Butalii, Cegulo Ward, in the Malava constituency, Farouk said that Uhuru’s actions show that he is not ready to retire from politics.
Has Uhuru Kenyatta officially returned to politics?
“Let me ask you, you say Uhuru is retired. But if you look carefully, is he really retired? What is he looking for anymore?” asked Farouk towards the people.
Farouk described Uhuru as a rich man from an influential family, who still has political and financial power.
“He is rich, he was born into a rich and powerful family. So, when you see him walking around meeting people, you have to ask yourself, what else does he want?” he added.
The prominent aide continued to associate Uhuru with several politicians who have recently been seen to have a shaky relationship with the Ruto government.
“They are looking for leadership. Sometimes we have to tell the truth, someone’s tomorrow is seen today,” Farouk said.
Farouk Kibet will name leaders who may be close to Uhuru
He mentioned the former vice president Rigathi Gachaguaformer Minister of Agriculture Mithika Linturi, and NARC-Kenya leader Martha Karua among those allegedly close to Uhuru.
Farouk’s comments come at a time when there has been increasing speculation about Uhuru’s next move following his frequent appearances at public events.

Will Matiang’i be the Jubilee presidential candidate in 2027?
In addition, Uhuru has revived activities within the Jubilee party towards the 2027 general election.
On September 27, he chaired the National Delegates Conference of Jubilee (NDC), where he announced that the party will field a presidential candidate in 2027.
The party emphasized that it is still within the coalition Declaration of Unitybut also revealed plans to field candidates in all election positions.
The revival of the Jubilee party has also been linked to the former Minister of Internal Security Fred Matiang’i, who was serving in the Uhuru government.
Matiang’i previously announced his intention to run for the presidency in 2027.
Although Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni once hinted that Matiang’i could be the party’s presidential candidate in 2027, the former minister said he has not yet decided which party he will use and is open to discussions with other political stakeholders.
