His son who was the prime minister Raila OdingaRaila Junior, has responded to the elders of the Kikuyu community who visited his father’s grave a few days after he was buried.

Raila died in India on October 15 after being rushed to hospital. He had fallen during his morning walk.
A few days after his burial, Nyeri governor Mutahi Kahiga was caught celebrating his death, which caused consternation across the country.
However, he came forward to defend himself after resigning the position of vice chairman of the Council of Governors.
What did Raila Junior say to the Agikuyu elders?
Shortly after, elders from the Kikuyu community headed their way Bondowhere they paid their last respects to Raila and mourned with his family.

After their visit, Junior, while talking to them, thanked them for visiting and extended the invitation to Kenyans.
“We thank you elders for coming to Bondo, and we welcome Kenyans to come to Bondo. They can come to pray with us and visit us and visit his grave,” he said.
His sentiments came after some ODM leaders warned those who criticized or celebrated Raila’s death against visiting his grave.

Did Uhuru visit Raila’s grave?
Elsewhere, a day after the burial of Raila, his longtime friend, the former president Uhuru Kenyattahe returned to visit his grave.
In a viral video, the emotional former president prayed at the grave site while those who accompanied him stood in silence.
The visit marked a personal tribute to a departed partner whose death deeply affected him.
He was joined by close members of the Odinga family, including Mama Ida OdingaSiaya senator Oburu Oginga, and Kisumu women’s representative Ruth Adhiambo Odinga.
Later, he stayed at Raila’s house, where he was welcomed by the widow.
He also signed a book of mourning, honoring his late friend and promising to visit the grave “regularly” for remembrance.
