Governor of Siaya James Orengo he returned to Bondo one day after Raila Odinga’s funeral to visit the grave of the late ODM leader and console the bereaved family.

Orengo was accompanied by his wife Betty Murungi and was received by Raila’s widow, Ida Odinga, as well as close relatives including Oburu Oginga and Ruth Odinga.
The visit came just 48 hours after the nation bid farewell to the long-time leader of the opposition in Kang’o Ka Jaramogi.
Did Orengo visit Raila’s grave a few days after he was buried?
In touching pictures, the leaders were seen comforting the family at the new cemetery. Orengo later took to Facebook, reflecting on the pain that followed the funeral.
“The loss of a loved one sinks deeper after a funeral, it is in these quiet moments that the bereaved need our comfort the most. Together with Betty, we took time to visit the Odinga family,” he wrote.
He described Raila as a “big tree under whose shade many found refuge,” adding that his great legacy will continue to guide the nation.
Also present was the governor of Nairobi Johnsonwho joined the family to mourn Raila.
“I paid my respects at home to the late Raila Amolo Odinga. His legacy of democracy, justice, and unity will continue to inspire generations. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. As a nation we have lost a hero. May he rest in eternal peace,” Sakaja said.

Why did Uhuru return to Raila’s grave?
At the same time, the former president Uhuru Kenyatta he quietly returned to Bondo to visit Raila’s grave the day after the funeral.
The video captured the emotional scene as Uhuru prayed silently by the side of the grave, surrounded by close aides and family members.
According to Ismael Noo, a long-time associate of the Odinga family, Uhuru’s visit had great personal and symbolic meaning.
He explained that the former president wanted to privately say goodbye to his long-time friend, away from the state funeral public, which was attended by the President William Ruto and other prominent leaders.
Who took the wreaths at Raila Odinga’s grave?
In related news, a strange situation emerged after Raila’s funeral in Bondo, when two young men were seen leaving with bouquets of flowers from his grave.
The ODM leader was laid to rest next to his parents in what was meant to be a private ceremony, but mourners made their way to the grave shortly after the burial. In the confusion, several people were seen taking items from the site.
A TikTok video later showed the two men in black t-shirts and hoodies walking calmly down the street, each carrying a bouquet of flowers from the grave as onlookers watched in silence.
