During the celebrations of Heroes Day in Kisii, Arati urged President William Ruto to return to the ODM party, of which he was one of the founders.
Should William Ruto return to the ODM party?
Arati, who is the deputy leader of the party, pointed out that Ruto he will be given a direct ticket to run for the next presidency if he returns to the Orange party.
The governor of Kisii explained that such a move would be in line with the vision of the late former prime minister Raila Amollo Odinga.
“Yesterday the President said he would make sure ODM remains the party it is. Today I want to tell Mr. Ruto — you were one of the founders of ODM. I would like you to return to your old party. If you return to ODM, we will have you as our presidential candidate. If you return, we will fulfill the vision that Baba had,” Arati said on Monday, October 20.
Arati continued to insist that he will ensure that ODM forms the next government or becomes part of the coalition that will form that government.
Will ODM have a presidential candidate in 2027?
The strong-voiced governor promised that the Orange party would not be in opposition by 2027.
“As the deputy leader of ODM, I am determined to ensure that ODM remains the largest party in the country. We will form a government either as a party or through a coalition. We will no longer remain in the opposition,” he announced.
Arati, who admitted that ODM may face challenges following Raila’s death, announced that the party will have a presidential candidate in 2027.

“I certainly know that difficult times are ahead of us; there are crocodiles. We will be there to face them. I, as Simba Arati, the Governor of Kisii, can assure you that in 2027 we will have our presidential candidate,” said the ODM deputy leader.
Should Edwin Sifuna be fired from the ODM party?
In other news, the Nandi senator, Samson Cherargeiwanted Edwin Sifuna to be removed from his position as secretary general of the ODM party.
Through the X network (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, October 19, Cherargei said Sifuna should be removed from his job before the end of this year.
According to Cherargei, the loud-mouthed Nairobi senator is a United Opposition “spy” within the ODM party.
Cherargei, who is a close ally of Ruto, claimed that Sifuna is working to ensure that the Orange party will not be part of the next government.
