Raila Odinga he has been buried in a private funeral at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi, his Opoda family home in Bondo, Siaya county, close to his parents, as he wished.
Raila’s body was buried a few minutes before 5pm after the funeral service held at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST).
Thousands of mourners attended the emotional funeral to pay their last respects to their beloved leader. Several leaders from Uganda, Zambia and Nigeria were present during the emotional funeral of the former prime minister.

How did Ida mourn her husband Raila Odinga?
Paying tribute to Raila, an emotional Ida said despite being in pain, she had accepted God’s will that her husband is no more.
“I never thought that this would fall to me, to lead the family and the world in burying Raila. I expected it to be the opposite,” he said in part, moving part of the mourners.
Mother Ida released her husband, praying that when the time comes, they will be reunited in heaven.
“I surrender Raila forever. I know he is happy where he is. I know he deserves to be in the company he is in, and I pray that when my time comes, I will join him in heaven. Sleep well, father of our children, continue well, friend of many. If we were to start again, I would be with you emotionally,” he said.

What happened at Raila Odinga’s grave?
When the body was brought near the grave, Rosemary who was standing next to her daughter was seen wiping her tears.
The family was then invited to throw soil at the grave, and some who were overcome with emotion could be heard crying in the background.
Winnie, Rosemary, and Ruth Odinga were also seen wiping away tears.
The former prime minister’s wife, children and grandchildren fled at the time, and others broke down in tears after Raila’s body was lowered to the ground.
Then the family placed wreaths on the grave. President Ruto then laid a wreath before leaving. Former president and close friend of Raila Uhuru Kenyatta he also placed a wreath on the politician’s grave. Several other leaders, including DP Kindiki and his wife, members of the ODM party, among others, laid wreaths at the grave.
