The President signed a book of condolence at the State House in Nairobi on Thursday evening, October 16.

In his heartfelt eulogy, the president praised Raila as a strong patriot who prioritized the welfare of the country before his own.

He remembered Raila coming to his side and standing by him when there was a need. To honor the fallen leader, Ruto he promised to work hard to fulfill all that he believed in and fought for in his life.

“You inspired many to defend democracy, justice, equity and equality. You have left an indelible mark in the history of Kenya as a strong patriot who put Kenya first. You helped me when I needed someone to stand with me, the way I stood with you in the past. Father, you may be gone, but we will do our best to honor what you stood for,” the president wrote.
