The President noted that in his political life, Raila saved many years to represent the Lang’ata constituency.

It would therefore not be legitimate to dismiss the false phase in Raila’s final journey, Ruto said.

“For fifteen years, our departed leader, Mr. Raila Amollo Odinga, served the people of Langata State with dedication and distinction as their Member of Parliament. Therefore, it is most appropriate that he will lie in August’s House, giving the three pillars of Government – Leadership, Parliament and the Judiciary a time of mourning and the court – gratitude, life and legacy of a true patriot and leader of the state,” the president said.

Apart from his service in parliament, Raila deserved to be fired to show his lack of commitment in his political life.

The President recognized Raila’s efforts in defending social justice and democracy, and being part of the prosperity of Kenya today.

“He was a tireless champion of justice, democracy and development, playing an important role in creating some of the most important laws in the history of our Republic, especially the adoption of the 2010 Constitution during his tenure as Prime Minister of Kenya,” Ruto said.
