The procession led by the Prime Minister, Stay Mudavadiwas tasked with coordinating the recovery of the body of the ODM leader in collaboration with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
Other political leaders who accompanied the Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers include Dating MurkomenHassan Joho, Kimani Ichung’wah, Junet Mohamed, Johnson Sakaja, and Edwin Sifuna.
Family members including Jaoko Oburu Odinga and Kevin Opiyo Odinga also joined the sad journey.

Did Winnie Odinga wear her father’s hat?
When he arrived early Thursday, October 16, Winnie Odingathe youngest daughter of the late leader, was seen getting off the plane.
He was carrying Raila’s distinctive white hat, believed to be his favourite, as he made his way down to the parade of officers.
In the background, a voice could be heard announcing the schedule of the event on the field before the procession made its way to Lee Funeral Home Park.
The leaders accompanying Winnie also disembarked, while Kenyans who had been waiting for hours wept bitterly and mourned the fallen hero.
“We will sing the national anthem, then the procession will follow, where we will also include the two national anthems of Kenya and East Africa and then we will follow with prayers,” came the voice of the announcer of the event.

Things to know about the death of Raila Odinga
The veteran politician will be buried in Bondo in his Opoda farm on Sunday, October 19.
The arrival of Raila’s body at JKIA was greeted with a water salute, a gesture given on special occasions.
The government declared Friday, October 17, a national holiday in honor of the veteran politician who passed away.
What efforts were made to save Raila in India?
According to information from TUKO.co.ke, Doctor Fons, a cardiologist at Devamatha Hospital where Raila was rushed after the fall, explained the efforts made to bring him back.
He said they started giving him the service of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) when he arrived at the hospital.
However, after CPR failed, Dr. Fons said they tried other methods including inserting an air tube (intubation), but even those efforts were unsuccessful.
