Raila Odinga Junior Was Overcome With Grief, While Viewing His Father’s Body

The activity of viewing the body of the late former prime minister Raila Odinga officially started in the Kasarani sports field.

Raila’s body was prepared in a VIP guest room in Kasarani, where senior government officials and his family viewed it in private.

His body was in good condition, the casket decorated with the Kenyan flag and with a coat of arms on the inside, while his elegant hat was carefully placed at the bottom.

Mourners came out in large numbers to honor the fallen politician, thus forcing a change in plans previously announced by the Deputy President Kithur Kindiki.

Kindiki had said that after arriving at the airport, the body of the deceased will be taken shortly to Lee Funeral Home for preparation before viewing.

As a result, morticians had to perform the operation in the field instead.

What respect did Raila Odinga Junior show to his father?

President William Ruto he led the process of viewing the council, first going to the casket and bowing respectfully.

Raila Odinga Junior appeared to be overcome with grief as he approached his father’s coffin, walking behind his mother, Ida Odinga, who pulled him close to comfort him.

He was then seen extending his hand towards the casket, signaling a final farewell to his father.

Pain was written on his face as he craned his neck to get a good look at his father’s body, memories of their time together filled his mind.

All that time, his sister Rosemary stood by his side, showing solidarity in times of grief.

He then led him in making the sign of the cross, as the Catholic faithful do, before they remained silent for about a minute, looking at Raila in silence, before leaving, after saying goodbye to their last elder.
