Nairobi: Hundreds of sad followers gathered outside the residence of Raila Odinga In Karen on Wednesday, a few hours after news spread about the death of the former prime minister in India.

Holding sticks and grass – the sign of mourning in the traditions of Kenyans – they sang the songs of mourning and crying in public, their pain back to the quiet suburb of Nairobi.

The crowd became increasingly restless as the hours passed without official information from the President William Ruto.

Many expressed disgust and delay, singing ‘Ruto Must Go’ and ‘Wantam,’ the word of language claiming accountability.
