Former Citizen TV journalist Kimani Mbugua dies a few months after returning to rehab

Mbugua received help after he emerged to share the problems he was going through and revealed that he was diagnosed with bipolar disease.

Detailed reports of his death have not yet been revealed, while Kenyans continue to pour out his dignity.

What led to the death of Kimani Mbugua?

Former governor of Nairobi Mike Sonkowho helped him return to the rehab, confirmed the sad news and vowed to promise a detailed report.

He shared a video of the Ticture singing while in rehab and accompanied it with a touching message.

Part of his post read: “I am sorry to hear about the early death of former Citizen TV journalist and NTV, Kimani Mbugua at the Mombasa Women Empowerment Mental Rescue Center.

YouTube blogger Shower Obinnawho was also very important in Kimani’s recovery journey, also went to his Instagram page to mourn him.

What happened to Kimani on Rehab?

In a separate report, Kimani in December 2024, he left Rehab about six months after being admitted.

Reflecting on his journey, Kimani admitted that God blessed him for the gift he had used to misuse and caused the loss.

He revealed that in his rehab period, he renewed his faith and found God and vowed to continue his journey of salvation.

Kimani claimed that finding a spiritual fellowship in the rehab enabled him to change his love for drugs and love God more.
