President Andry Rajoelina fled the country on Sunday, October 12, following several weeks of protests led by youths to resign.
According to an East African report, the head of state addressed the nation on Facebook at the end of Monday, October 13, saying that he had moved after receiving a warning of an approaching attack.
He did not disclose his whereabouts but emphasized that his intention is to make sure that Madagaska does not fall into chaos.
The president is said to have left the country after the army announced it supported Gen Z.
“We have all seen that the conflict in the country has caused damage. Revolutionary plans have been ready since September 25. There was also an attempt to kill me,” Rajoelina said.
There are allegations that Rajoelina was exported to the French military plane.
Madagascar is a former French colony, and it is said that the president has French citizenship, which has been a problem for some Madagasca people.
