Kilimani’s DCIO chief Mahat Hassan said Kimunyi was walking near the palace when Mattanka approached him.

A report at the Kilimani police station said Kimunyi approached the officers who were guarding the gate of the state house who were inspecting two cars.

“He pulled out an arrow and stabbed Ramadhan Khamisi Mattanka on the left chest and left him bleeding a lot. It said a report by GSU officer Daniel Kemboi.

The statement stated that Mattanka was rushed to Kenyatta Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.

His body was transferred to the hospital’s mortuary for a corpse examination.

Police said an investigation is still ongoing about the incident and that the brothers of the killed police have been notified.

“You don’t know what you did, you will discover,” A police officer with him in the car was heard telling him.

Critics want to determine whether Mattanka or even the officers working with him had anything to do with Kimunyi because it is not easy for any ordinary citizen to be allowed to enter the White House.

CCTV photos showed Mattanka as she fell to the ground in agony as her colleagues rushed to save her life, but they were late.

The family of the late GSU official yesterday responded to a police request to postpone his funeral.

This is because, according to Islamic beliefs, the Mattanka family wanted him to be buried before sunset on Monday.

However, police asked for the funeral to be postponed so that his body could be examined on Tuesday.

3. The Standard

The Standard newspaper reported on the government’s new initiative to obtain student certificates.

Students who have passed national exams may take their certificates directly from sub -county education offices, with some schools continue to violate the government’s directive against holding them for not being paid school fees.

A new proposal from the Ministry of Education aims to end this direction by allowing schools to retain their records, with candidates receiving actual certificates.

Education Minister Julius Ogamba noted that the Ministry is looking for new ways to address the ongoing problem of school principals to deprive students of KCPE and KCSE certificates.

“We issued a document, and although several institutions obeyed and issued certificates, some are not compliant. We now consider the options to ensure students are not excluded in the future,” Said Ogamba.

He referred to section 10 of the Kenya National Examinations Act (KNEC), which prohibits institutions from maintaining certificates of students who have completed their studies.

Ogamba commented this during the Lake Kenya Regional Association of Technical Training Association (KATTTI) at the Sia Asian Technical Institute in Rongo, Migori County.

To avoid interrupting student development or academics, the Ministry considers two key options; Either send certificates to sub -county offices so that students can be taken or sent to candidates’ home addresses, while schools store copies for storage.

Ogamba emphasized that holding certificates does not help to recover unpaid fees.

“If the certificate is restricted at that time and the fee has not yet been returned, then it is clear that the strategy has failed which is why we say the fee issue should be dealt with separately,” He said.
