Nairobi: A session of the Health Parliamentary Committee has sparked controversy following intense clashes between Kitutu MP Anthony Kibagendi and Health Minister Aden Duale.

Strong conflicts occurred during Tuesday, October 14, on allegations of fraud in the Community Health Authority (SHA) and the closure of the hospital.

Why did Duale, Bage were confronted each other?

Tension broke out when Kibagendi when he accused CS Duale of harassing members of the committee, including the Chairman, James Nyikal.

In severe violence, Kibagendi opposed Duale’s behavior, accusing him and his allies of stealing Sha.

In response, Duale tried to demand that Kibagendi be dismissed from the committee, saying that National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula should be submitted to the action.

However, Nyikal firmly rejected the move, saying, ‘It is not in your position to decide how this meeting is run.’

Will Kibagendi be charged in court?

The confrontation intensified with Duale insisting that Kibagendi should be charged in court.

Kibagendi, without despair, stressed his allegations and announced his intention to remain on the committee.

“You can charge me if you love, but the fact is that you are the ones when you are, duale you cannot threaten me, I am not afraid of anyone, this is the absurdity you bring to this country, you are abusing members, who are you, I will remain on this committee,” He said.

He was finally tightly removed from the session.

Kibagendi is one of Kenyan MPs who joined one who broke the ranks with the ODM party in support of the government’s plan.

Following his removal from the conference, Kibagendi went to social networks to protest Duale’s allegations.

Kibagendi explained that whenever he raises difficult questions about Sha, Duale is turning away by allegations that Kibagendi owns hospitals that are closed.

“I don’t even know the hospital he is referring to,” Kibagendi published. “Why can’t Duale clearly mention the hospitals that I have, when they were registered, and who are my partners? Let him completely shut down, then answer our questions about the shortage and his conflict of interest.”

Are hospitals responsible for fraud?

At the same time, Duale warned that owners of health care facilities found guilty of misconduct may face fines of up to KSh 2 million, suspension or cancellation.

His remarks followed the Ministry of Health to submit case files 1,188 to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), a move that has raised serious concerns in the health sector.

The cases highlighted allegations of violations including fraudulent payments, violations of the rules and improper conduct. Some centers are accused of charging bills for unbearable procedures, forge patients ‘records, and exacerbating claims by converting out -of -patient visits into patients’ abduction.
