Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua now insists that the merger of President William Ruto and Kanu chairman Gideon Moi is politically serious and endangering Mount Kenya.

On Friday, October 10, Ruto And Gideon agreed to set aside their long -term political differences to favor cooperation within the broader government program.

The compromise between Ruto and Gideon came after the President welcomed the protesters to the Nairobi White House.
Their second meeting, which after the agreement was announced, was held at the home of the KANU chairman in Kabarak, County Nakuru.
Ruto announced that Kanu would enforce its cooperation with Kenya first, and strengthen their commitment to work together.
What Rigathi Gachagua said about the union between Ruto, Gideon
In his response, Gachagua criticized the move, explaining that it was false and driven by personal interests.
Addressing a political rally in Embu County on Saturday, October 11, along with other opposition cadres, Gachagua accused Ruto of promoting ethnicity despite criticizing similar actions by his opponents.
He pointed out what he saw as a dualism in Ruto’s political alliances, especially with Gideon, from the same Kalenjin community.
“We saw him joining Gideon Moihowever, when we call our people, he calls us ethnic, but when they unite, we are told it is unity, ” Gachagua said.
Gachagua also claimed that the Union between Ruto and Moi signaled the action planned against Mount Kenya.
He claimed that while Ruto was strengthening the support in the Rift Valley, he was using his deputy, Kithure Kindiki, to plant divisions on Mount Kenya.
He blamed Ruto for raising money in the Mount Kenya area to hamper his efforts to unite the area.
“He is plotting against Mount Kenya. He called his community to unite. He said.
In addition, Gachagua issued a warning to Mount Kenyan leaders who had broken its ranks and wing, accusing them of being used to disperse the unity of the region.
“Anyone used by Ruto to divide this area is our enemy. The patriotic leaders of that mountain are with us. Anyone is a traitor,” Gachagua said.
