The tragic accident involving the Latema Sacco bus occurred on Tuesday, October 7, along the road to Gatina.

Photos that TUKO.co.ke has seen the large crowd gathered at the scene, with some people climbing the remains in an effort to save the stuck passengers.

The full source of the accident is still unknown, and the authorities have not yet provided official information on the incident.

What did Nairobi County say about the Waruku accident?

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke alone, Nairobi’s Chief Environment Officer Geoffrey Mosiria reportedly received a phone call from a Waruku resident requesting an emergency ambassador due to the extreme situation.

“Our County Emergency Ambulance team replied immediately, and I personally visited the scene. It was a sad heart,” He said.

According to preliminary reports, more than 20 casualties were rescued and taken to nearby health facilities, while others were rushed to different hospitals for treatment.

Mosiria called on all drivers to take great precautions, emphasizing the need to avoid speeding and negligence.

“Let us put the safety to prevent those tragic events,” he added.

How did Beatrice Elachi respond to the Waruku accident?

North Dagoretti MP Beatrice Elachi expressed his sadness following the tragic accident.

In a statement from the heart, Elachi mourned the death of diligent parents who left home in the morning to prepare their families but sadly they did not return.

“My heart is going to all the affected families in this difficult time,” he said.

He confirmed that rescue operations are still ongoing and he continued the application to the injured and rushed to hospital for treatment.
