3. Daily Nation
The newspaper saved Kenya’s response to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after claiming to be President William Ruto’s project.
The Kenyan coalition led by ODM Secretary -General Edwin Sifuna has strongly criticized former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for referring to other opposition leaders as government projects.
Mr Sifuna said the opposition is at risk of disintegration if the same sparks of disrespect other leaders will continue to be released by leaders like Mr Gachagua.
The Nairobi senator said the opposition should aim to remove President William Ruto in office in 2027 instead of Mr Gachaeka watching criticizing other leaders to fulfill his political interests.
Speaking to the Nation Today, the senator denied the notion that there was a group of opposition leaders who had the power to take away President Ruto 2027, saying they all had to work together, and without unity, their intention would fail.
“As young leaders, we are saddened by the divisions made by some opposition leaders. Many Kenyans want President Ruto to serve one term and not more than 2027,” Said Mr Sifuna.
To him, it is the case for some leaders like Mr Gachaeki to claim that they are equalizing the government while referring to others as spies and voters of the existing leadership.
“Some of us were pressuring Ruto to go to 2023 when Gachagua was still in government. When did Galagua himself be the only sponsor of Ruto not to be elected 2027?” Asked Sifuna.
“What we need is unity and not a statement to name other leaders like Fuko,” he added.
Kenya one includes young leaders from all political parties and has emphasized that it does not depend on or rely on the opposition or the united government in its politics.
“Kenyans should not be deceived that the current government and opposition are the only parties aimed at gaining the leadership of the country. People who are better than William Ruto are millions in the country; therefore, we cannot be set to have the freedom to elect five leaders,” He said.
He was referring to Ruto, Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Eugene Wamalwa (DAP-K) and PLP leader Martha Karua.
DCP deputy leader Cleophas Malala yesterday criticized President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee and said that one of the government -used parties to disrupt Gachagua’s stability in Mount Kenya politics.
