Speaking during Boyd’s approval by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Wednesday, October 8, Sifuna said young voters will play an important role in identifying the outcome of the November 27 vote.
“Congratulations. I want to congratulate you right now being the official candidate of the party called ODM. My brother, this is a great family. You have seen leadership from the Coast, even the leadership from Turkana will be here to campaign for you. You are all of us now,” Sifuna told Boyd.

He added that the party would use the influence of Grandpa Owino Among the youth to secure Boyd’s victory.
“If you want a Gen Z lot, just tell me and I call Grandpa to speak to them in a language that they understand well, until we get this seat. Now you belong to the party. The journey is still long but we will walk with you,” Sifuna said.
Boyd, the son of the late MP Ong’ongo Were, was officially approved by IEBC Kasipul’s parliamentary seat, which was left open following the murder of his father in Nairobi earlier this year.
His approval ceremony turned into a unity and ODM power show, with senior party leaders following him.
Among those accompanied by Boyd are Mombasa Governor and ODM Party Deputy Leader Abdulswamad Nassir, Governor Homa Bay Gladys starchWajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi.

Their collective appearance was seen as a powerful statement of support and efforts to strengthen the ODM administration in Nyanza.
Boyd got his position as an ODM candidate after winning the party’s 18,210 votes, defeating Newton Ogada and Daniel Okindo Water.

Did the ODM transport the crowd for the Boyd event in Kasipul?
Kasipul’s small election is likely to be a fierce tournament between Boyd and former ODM Philip Aroko.
Aroko was also approved by the IEBC as an independent candidate after withdrawing ODM shortly before the vote, citing a dirty game in the process.
“I’m happy to announce that we have been officially removed under the Otete logo,” Arocho said, referring to the small wooden structure used in the cultivation of chicks against other animals. “It signifies my commitment to protect the people of Kasipul from the forces that threaten their well -being.”
Expressed his gratitude to his followers, saying, “I take this time to sincerely thank my followers and the great people of our parliament for the unstable faith and the faith you have placed in me.”
On the way home, Arocho was welcomed by a large crowd of followers who appeared on the road to celebrate.
In what appeared to be a subtle shock in the ODM, he accused the party of transporting foreign foreigners to increase their support during the Boyd event.
