The victims who are a man, his wife, and their child were stuck in their house when the fire broke out.

According to residents, the lack of fire extinguishers contributed to the tragedy, with neighbors struggling to stop the blaze before emergency services arrived.

The authorities said it was reported at seven o’clock in the morning and fled to the scene.

Are the police investigating Tongaren’s fire tragedy?

Soysambu police commander Simon Kinai confirmed the incident and said the investigation had begun to determine the source of the fire.

“We have not identified the source of the blaze, but the security forces have been here conducting preliminary investigations, they left with the family and will follow up to be informed of the source of the fire,” he said.

He called on residents to take precautions this summer to prevent such events.

However, some local people expressed sadness at the police response to the allegations that no evidence had been collected at the scene from the bodies.

“We want to know what caused this fire,” one resident said. “The police just took the bodies and told us they would investigate. How can they investigate without collecting anything from the scene?”

The bodies of the victims were transported to the Malwa Hospital in Trans Nzoia County for the storage and examination of his death.
