Fred Matiang’i confirms he wants a Jubilee 2027 ticket, explaining the tactics he will use

Former Minister of Home Affairs Fred Matiang’i has officially confirmed his membership in the Jubilee Party of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

This comes a few days after attending a special Jubilee national conference on Friday, September 26.

Is Matiang’i the Jubilee presidential candidate

Speaking during a press conference on Friday, October 3, Matiang’i confirmed that the Jubilee party had not yet mentioned him as its 2027 presidential candidate.

He said that he is still campaigning and will compete with other Jubilee presidential candidates when it arrives.

The former cabinet secretary said that in order to run for a Jubilee ticket, he must be appointed by members of the party after he had supported the support.

“I do not want to put a cart in front of a horse for what follows. The party has put all its entities; he added.

“What I do alone is to campaign against Jubilee members because you have been nominated first by party members,” He added.

He said one of the strategies he uses to get the ticket is to collaborate with the lower level members.

“I will meet with Jubilee members in every county. Go to every village I can find Jubilee members, while asking them to register, I ask them to think of me in form and formal nominations as they nominate their candidate for the presidential race,” Matiang’i added.
