Odhiambo died on Thursday, October 2, at Karen Hospital. Details about her illness have not yet been made clear.

When was Fredrick Odhiambo nominated DAG?

Selected in 2020, Odhiambo was a prominent expert in accounting and administration.

He led a team of more than 1,200 inspectors to the Office of the Auditor -General (OAG), managing a financial audit for all 47 county governments, 290 national organizations, and hundreds of government agencies.

Under its leadership, the OAG accepted a high -risk, data -driven audit approach that reduced the field days by 25 percent and expanded the audit scope to 92 percent of public expenditure in the 2023/24 financial year.

Odhiambo’s inheritance as a reformer and transparent champion leaves an undeniable mark in Kenya’s public finance sphere.

His death has raised a lot of praise from Kenyans, respecting his public service and financial integrity.

According to Kenya Heroes, Odhiambo was an expert on the administrative and professional documents from Strathmore, the Kenyan Government School, and the University of Nairobi.

The CPA-K and the authorized fraudulent inspector, led a high-level audit regarding Covid-19 funding, Eurobond revenue and key infrastructure projects.

He led the Afrosai-E work group on the industry and representing Kenya on the Intosai International Standards Committee.

Enthusiastic, Odhiambo taught hundreds of public sector accountants and encouraged young people through the ICPAK students.

Dalmas Otieno dies at his home in Nairobi

Meanwhile, weeks ago, the country plunged into mourning following the death of former Rongo MP and Minister Dalmas Otieno Anyanga.

He passed away at his home in Nairobi after a short illness. Otieno served in many ministerial positions under the former president Daniel Arap Moiincluding industrialization, labor, transport and public service.

Known for his free political stability, Otieno remained involved in public affairs even after leaving Parliament, including being in the payroll commission and benefits.

He was buried at his home in Rongo on Thursday, October 2.
