Speaking at the Green Action House on Thursday, October 2, Maraga revealed that he joined the United Green Movement (UGM), where he was officially approved as the presidential flag.
He was also crowned as a co -leader of the party, along with Neto Agostinho, a former Ndhiwa MP who moved from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and created the garment.
Why did Maraga join the United Green Movement party?
In his speech, Maraga said his goal would be to strengthen and spread the party across the country, describing the journey to build a valuable party as a challenging but important commitment.
“Ever since I announced my presidential intention, many Kenyans have asked me what party I belong to. It is not an easy task to find a political garment that is in line with your ideology, but with UGM, I have a belief that we have a good foundation,” Maraga said.
The retired Chief Justice described his vision, promising to re -establish, rebuild, and rebuild Kenya if he was elected president.
He emphasized his commitment to restoring human dignity, developing social justice, and ensuring equal opportunities for young people.
Maraga said his goal is to make UGM a strong national force capable of not only giving up the next president but also getting more MPs and county parliamentarians.
He announced that the party would soon submit nomination certificates to candidates participating in the November by -elections.
Later, he will lead the monitoring of the countryside, starting with Members’ meetings in Homa Bay and Kisumu Before starting the campaign in Ugunja.
The biggest launch of the party as his official presidential car will later take place in Nairobi.
What are the pillars of the UGM party of Maraga?
Maraga noted that UGM is built on green political ideology, and climate change and environmental conservation are a major part of its agenda.
He said Kenya must take the first place in using renewable energy, protect natural resources, and use its wealth of mining and agriculture to build a sustainable economy.
“The world is looking at Africa for its green minerals, agricultural land, and large carbon ditches. Kenya has a leading role in these changes and to ensure that our people benefit from it,” He explained.
He invited Kenyans to read the pillars of the party, which include economic recovery, constitutional obedience and law, job creation for youth, social justice, and equality.
Why is Maraga running for the presidency?
In April, Maraga revealed that his goal of running for the presidency was prompted by the call of young people across the country, who wanted him to enter the political sphere citing justice and his leadership record.
Maraga said he had already consulted with opinion officials and political parties, many of whom had confirmed their support, explaining the belief that Kenyans would support his vision when the campaign kept steadily.
