The decision came after students allegedly showed signs of planning another strike, raising concerns that caused the institution to close a week early on September 21.

Parents who were accompanied by their children to return to school were shaken by the situation. Many expressed remorse over the degree of damage caused during the previous chaos and the frustration of unresolved conflicts.

Why did Litein Boys threaten the strike to make another?

The main source of tension is the students’ demands for the headmaster to be relocated, a request that has not been made by the authorities.

“We came here in the morning at eight o’clock in the morning, and I am confused with how things are,” One parent said while examining the remains. “All classes and everything is damaged. We ask the Government to help us.”

Another parent questioned the fate of students preparing for the national secondary education certificate (KCSE) examinations.

“Come to all including teachers and the government to see what it will be like in this school, where do we have fourth -year candidates going?

The frustration was spread by the school’s administrators, with one parent blaming the school’s head for the crisis.

“Now the school is closed again and we come home, but we don’t know when we will open,” He said and demanded that immediate action be taken to restore stability.

Litein Boys’ High School has suffered serious losses after strike

The school had only been opened following the violence on the night of September 21, when students caused severe damage to school supplies, reportedly worth millions of dollars.

The buildings were burned, the classes were damaged and the infrastructure was damaged. Ten boys were later arrested after being identified via CCTV photos.

The Bursar office was also reportedly broken, and an electricity supply with KSh 2 million was looted.

The investigation revealed the unrest began after students were denied a chance to watch the British Premier League clash between Arsenal FC and Manchester City FC. The leadership rejected the request, thus provoking anger among the students.

Online videos showed students invading teachers’ residence to cook food in their kitchen, as well as forcing the school bus and driving around.

Did Litein Boys get involved in strange actions during the strike?

In related development, a new revelation emerged during the parent meeting.

According to the report, a female teacher who lives in the fort but was out of the weekend and returned to her house when it was raided.

The clothes were scattered out, the property was stolen, and nothing was left at home, even its gas stove. The parents said this exacerbated the damage and showed an anxiety behavior.

Reports during the conference showed that some students even took the teacher’s underwear and put on their head while running at the school field.
