Nairobi – People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua He has officially announced his presidential goal, promising to serve only one term if he is elected.

Speaking at the party’s national conference on Friday, September 27, in the Hall, Karua organized his campaign as a fight for justice, unity and human dignity.
The veteran politician made his representation as a commitment to public service rather than personal ambitions.
“Today, I announce my intention to run for the presidency of the Republic of Kenya under the People’s Liberation Party and within the united opposition. Karua told party members and strangers.
Why is Karua looking for only one semester?
Karua put in place his campaign against what he referred to as corruption of the incumbent government, apathy, and failing to serve the people.
In a historic statement, Karua said that he would run for the presidency only if Kenyans voted him in the 2027 general election.
“We are one people, one goal, one semester. One people, one goal, one term. In order for some not to think that one term is an abusive language, I stand before you to tell you that we must withdraw authority. Kenya, East Africa and Africa, people come to power and refuse to leave office. He told the delegates.
The former MP explained that he is confident that in five years, it is possible to lay the foundation for the next government to build and lay the foundations for the ruling administrations.
“No one will finish the job of making Kenya thrive. So I want to open up by saying I will look for one semester. There is no longer a separation,” he added.
The PLP leader further emphasized the importance of the opposition, recognizing leaders from other parties including Kalonzo Musyoka of the Wiper Party, Rigathi Gachagua of Democracy for Citizens Party, Eugene Wamalwa of Democratic Action Party, Justin Muturi of the Democratic Party of Kenya, and others.
He said cooperation on the basis of parties is essential to disperse what he called “oppression tactics” and to restore the promise of the Kenyan constitution.

What is Karua’s vision for Kenya?
Karua went on to explain the administrative agenda on accountability, security and service delivery.
He vowed to be under his presidency, corruption would face all the power of the law regardless of the status of the victim, and public institutions would return to serve the people rather than the authorities.
Karua promised protection for every Kenyan, to end the kidnapping and violence, and to protect the dignity of professionals, teachers, doctors, nurses and public servants.
The PLP leader said that economic reforms would prioritize justice and empowerment, especially for the 7.4 million Kenyan small businesses, which Karua said was the backbone of the economy.

He criticized the government’s preference for foreign investors when domestic businesses were interrupted and promised policies that support domestic production, job creation, and financial inclusion.
With regard to health care and education, Karua offered to reach all people from childhood to the grave and to ensure that public money reached their beneficiaries without corruption.
He also described plans to revive agriculture through loans, markets, and technology, aiming to transform subsistence agriculture into food security and well -being.
Will Gachagua run for the presidency?
On the same occasion, Gachagua expressed his intention to oppose the President William Ruto In the 2027 general election.
Gachagua said his only regret was to miss the opportunity to face Ruto in the presidential debate.
He emphasized his belief in defeating Ruto in such an environment.
