Kitale: One family has come into mourning after their relative, known as Samson Ouma, died in the hands of police.

What led to the death of Samson Ouma?

The report said that Ouma died from a blood clot in his shoulder.

The deceased’s family gathered in a young man of Wamalwa to receive the results, could not hide their sadness after receiving the report.

Walter Nalianya, a pediatrician who conducted a deceased body examination, explained to them the circumstances of their brother’s death.

“During the body, we found blood clots into the blood vessels that transport blood from the heart to the lungs.

Ouma’s mother tells the last conversation with her son

Margaret Adhiambo, the mother of the deceased, said that her baby was in good health when she was detained in early September.

“His head was swollen on one side. I asked him what his issue was, because he seemed right at his arrest. Then he told me that he had been beaten. Then I decided to interview the officers, asking them what they did to my son. No one answered me,” Odhiambo said.

As she struggled to keep her tears, Adhiambo called on the government to intervene, explaining that her son was healthy before being arrested.

“I want the government to bring me back to my son because he was okay. I knew my son was in the police cell and he would return to my house when his case was over.

She said that she had struggled to raise Ouma alone since the death of her husband 25 years ago.

Fredrick Ojiri from the African Justice Organization called on the government to ensure that the Ouma family gets justice following the death of their relative.

Ojiri alleged that Ouma suffered injuries after being tortured while in detention.

He said that the family has not yet received information from the chief executive officer or the nurse’s nurse on the day Ouma passed away.
