DCP of Rigathi Gachagua opens doors for those who want to contest for sub -elections: “Information for all”

In a notice issued on Thursday, August 28, DCP Secretary General Hezron Obaga called on members interested in taking application forms from the party headquarters starting on Friday, August 29.

“The Democratic Party for the Citizens’ Party (DCP) welcomes requests from members interested in participating in the upcoming elections for the party ticket,” It said part of the notice.

Obaga said that presentations could be submitted physically to the party offices or through the party’s official email, with the late application not being completely considered.

“All applications must be submitted by 8 September 2025 at the Party Headquarters or through the Official Email of the Party. The delayed presentations will not be accepted,” Obaga warned.

What areas will the DCP have?

The party mentioned the main positions, including the Senate in Baringo County, several parliamentary constituencies, and many county parliamentary wards across Kenya.

The constituencies of the National Assembly opened for DCP tickets include Banissa, Kasipul, Cars, Malava, North Mbeere, and Ugunja.

The county parliamentary seats found in the by -elections deal with geographical spread.

Some of the wards include Angata Nanyokie (Samburu County), Chemundu/Kapng’etuny (Nandi County), Chewani (Tana River County), Fafi (Garissa County), Kariobangi North (Nairobi County), Kakamega County (Kakamega County), Kabuchai/Bungoma County, Marakwet), Elgeyo County Muk Marakwet County), Purko (Kajiado County), Movement (Uasin Gishu County), Nyansioni, Nyamiya, and Ekerenyo (Nyamira County), as well as the Lake Zone and Nanaam wards (Turkana County).

The DCP office further explained that applicants will not be required to pay an application fee when submission.

Obaga explained that only the candidates will pass the verification process that will be required to pay the official selection fee.

“No application fee is paid at the time of submission. Only candidates who have passed the verification stage will be required to pay the appointment fee before proceeding to the next stage of the process,” Obaga said in a formal notice.

UDA opens up space for those wishing to send applications

Elsewhere, the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) announced plans to suspend candidates in all 24 areas of the upcoming sub -elections scheduled for November 27, 2025.

The choice of a compromise of the UDA It is scheduled for September 20, and the registration of candidates will be opened from August 14 to September 5.

The selection fees were set to be KSh 50,000 for the nominees for MCA Men and KSh 250,000 for male MPs and senators; Reduced fees of KSh 25,000 and KSh 125,000 apply to women, youth, and people with disabilities.
