Traffic stopped along the main junction road – Kenol on Wednesday afternoon after two truck collided face -to -face.
The accident is feared that it may have caused the deaths of several people.
Reports say that one truck traveling to the intersection failed to cope with the other way.
It hit another truck directly, causing a fatal accident that left the remnants of the road scattered.
The effect was so great that the first truck overturned and fell into a nearby river, leaving rescuers struggling to reach those who were stuck inside.
Pictures shared from the scene showed the front booth of a single truck being compressed to an unknown amount.
Emergency ministers, including police and physicians, rushed to the site to provide first aid and remove remains.
By the time of publishing this article, the authorities had not yet confirmed the full number of deaths or injuries.
The collision caused a massive traffic congestion on the side of the Nairobi highway, with long queues spreading several kilometers.
The highway – Kenol has been monitored due to frequent accidents.
Just last week, a truck carrying a cow overturned in one area and killed all the livestock inside.
In this case, the Witnesses reported that the car was being driven fast before losing direction near Sagana.
An investigation into both accidents is now underway, with police demanding that motorists take precautions when using the highway.
The recent accident came just days after Kenya recording one of the worst weekends on the road.
Approximately 80 people were killed in a series of accidents within four days, causing the number of road deaths this year to 2,933.

Transport Minister Davis Chirchir confirmed the figures and said that the government had begun an emergency review of security.
A team of many organizations were sent to inspect dangerous roads, reorganize accident events, and identify the risks that may have caused disasters.
Chirchir explained that the team would provide technical recommendations within a week to help reduce the loss of life.
He has also sent condolences to families affected by the accidents and wished them a speedy recovery from the hospital receiving medical treatment.
