The first few weeks after the dismissal, Muikia had a vision of how she wanted her life to be improved after finding an invention that she thought would change the banking system in Kenya.
“After working in a bank for a long time, I got an idea of how things work in the financial system, and so I got a creative idea that I once knew it would change the banking system. He narrated.
After improving his creativity, he decided to have a copyright with the Kenya Copyright Board (Kecobo).
In the documents he shared with the author, he owned the invention in February 2015, and then approached the Bank of Kenya, seeking guidance on whether he would share the invention with Kenyan banks.
“CBK later advised me to use the Kenyan Banking Association to direct me how the invention would be approved by all banks. I did as I was advised, but later, KBA arrived in June 2015 and told me they would not focus on my invention,” He narrated.

The case of a court
However, two years later, 2017, Muikia claimed that he received a phone call from his friend, who asked him if his money transfer had been approved by the bank.
“I was shocked when he told me this. He claimed.
He began a long legal process that took many years.
“I decided to find an attorney so that the matter could go to court. It was not easy to find an attorney because such cases are very expensive. I was able to find one who took the matter to Pro Bono, the case began. He narrated.
However, in 2023, the judge dismissed the case, with all defendants being dismissed.
The court documents indicate that the judge found that the complainant, Muikia, had not confirmed his case with the equality of possibility and continued to dismiss it with the cost of the defendants.
“On the contrary, the 1st defendant (Kenya Banking Association) led evidence, including minutes to support that his Pesalink platform began in 2005 when the Packet was approved to work in its implementation. That was in the past, before the complainant registered his work in 2015. The judgment is partially read.
Although it was a major blow, Muikia decided that he would still appeal the issue.
“However, I did not receive a written judgment that required me to appeal, which is why I made it clear on social networks because I had so many requests to have, I do not understand why I was denied the sentence for two years now,” He said.
However, by August 14, 2025, he confirmed that the decision had been made and he would soon appeal.
