Kericho Governor Erick Mutai is dismissed for the second time, Mcas Watwangana

  • 33 of the 47 representatives of Wadi Kericho voted on Friday evening, August 15, to oust governor Eric Mutai
  • The issue of the removal of the county boss was submitted on August 6, with MCAS accusing him of alleged misuse of office
  • The special argument was discussed for the best part of Friday, in which Mutai stood in a session to oppose the move with the help of his defense team

Kericho Governor Eric Mutai is still ousted after more than eight hours of special arguments on Friday, August 15.

The move was funded by Sigowet Ward Representative, Kiprotich Rogony, who accused the governor of other matters, allegations of abuse of office, constitutional violations and procurement procedures.

He was also accused of making misconceptions and fraternity, unlawful dismissal and transfer, and the seizure of constitutional and legal responsibilities of county agencies.

A total of 33 MPs voted to oust their governor.

Speaker Patrick Mutai voted later in the evening, with members voting electronically.

The voting continued for less than ten minutes, and after the Speaker announced that the case was successful and postponed the day’s session immediately.

It was then that a conflict broke out between the supporters of the move and the governors of the governor.
