Michael Muiruri was reported to be destroyed by death by a security guard while sitting on a motorcycle driven by his friend, 24 -year -old Brian Kuria, who escaped the attack.
What happened before the death of Michael Muiruri?
According to the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC), Muiruri was returning home from the market Thikawhere he was selling vegetables the same day.
After the attack, Kuria quickly took Muiruri to a nearby clinic for first aid before he was returned to Thika’s Five Hospital.
When he arrived at the hospital, doctors found Muiruri not heard and despite their efforts, he was announced to die around 7pm.
A mortuary, conducted on August 11, 2025, revealed that Muiruri’s death was due to numerous injuries he suffered in a car accident.
His mother, Margaret Muiruri, explained what happened.
“At Thika Level 5, he was sent quickly because he was crying bitterly. The doctors told us to go and buy medicine. Then we paid for X-ray. He said as he cried.

The responsible G4S guard was driving a Toyota Hilux (registration number KBZ 441E).
When the Muiruri and Kuria family went to the Ngati police station to report the incident, the security guard was reportedly searching for his car, almost hit them before they arrived at the center.
Police have been arrested both vehicles, Hilux and Kuria motorcycle, which had signs of damage corresponding to the accident.
The mother called on the government to help them get justice in the midst of police violence.
