The accident happened near the city of Litein and involved three of the 14 passengers of Nakuru LINE SACCO.

What caused the Litein accident?

According to earlier reports, the events before the crash began when a traffic officer was allegedly flying into a car that was traveling after the driver failed to cope, allegedly avoiding bribes.

Eyewitnesses said that as soon as the driver found out that the officer had climbed, he tried to avoid confrontation by directing the car from the highway.

Physical controversy is alleged to have been followed, with the officer allegedly killing the driver. In that turmoil, the driver failed to cope with it, and the three forcefully softened the tree, leaving its front part confused.

Emergency attendants fled to the scene, and several passengers were taken to the nearest medical center for treatment.

Photos from the scene of the accident showed the front part of the crashing car, showing the magnitude of the collision.

What did the drivers’ party say about the incident?

The Association of Vehicle Drivers in the country (Mak) condemned the alleged behavior of the officer, citing it as indifferent and unacceptable.

“What kind of implementation is this? Reports say that a traffic police officer in Litein jumped into three moving three that refused to stop to give a gift as usual, and started hanging the driver. In the movement, the car lost control and hit a tree, causing losses,” The party said in a Facebook post.

The incident has raised concerns about the ongoing problem of police officers asking for bribes from motorists on Kenyan roads.

For many years, public service providers have been accusing some traffic police officers of demanding cash so that they can be allowed to work without being harassed.

The Ethics and Anti -Corruption Commission (EACC) has been investigating numerous cases of traffic police corruption, with officials saying such actions undermine road safety, public confidence and law.

How much did the Nairobi soldiers claim from drivers?

In such cases, a traffic police officer from the Kilimani police station was arrested by an EACC police officer after allegedly a bribe from a car driver.

The officer is said to have been in the process of receiving part of the payment through M-money Up to the number when the spies moved.

Investigations revealed that the officer allegedly accepted a bribe of KSh 20,000 to protect the driver against legal action for traffic offense.

He is said to have received KSh 10,000 as a partial payment, with the remainder expected later.

The officer was later brought before the anti -corruption unit of the Mountains Court where he was released on a cash bail KSh 20,000 in the case.
