Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamumba has been suspended for 20 days after he violated Speaker Moses Wetang’ula’s order to remain in parliament and instead moved out.

The suspect, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, escaped from police hands in August 2024 and has since been arrested again.

Explaining his dissatisfaction with Murkomen’s response, Wamuchomba said:

When he tried to leave, Wetang’ula intervened, calling his actions ‘absolutely unjust’ and demanding that he return to his seat.
