McCarthy is currently in the process of bringing the team to the next stage of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Kenya, who is one of the hosts, opened their campaign with a roar after defeating DR Congo 1-0 on Sunday. Austin Odhiambo was a hero for a beautiful goal before the break.
However, despite the increase in the wave of hope, McCarthy is fully aware that the upcoming matches will be difficult.
Kenya is playing with the teams most popular with the team, Angola and Morocco, within four days, with their development depend on how they will do in these two games.
“Nothing was still done. That was just one victory, but we have to remain careful. Said McCarthy.
Who is Angola’s head coach Pedro Goncalves?
Against Angola, he will face Pedro Goncalves, the Portuguese head coach who has made the South African country a home for almost 10 years.
It is usually very rare for a foreign coach to stay in the same position for a long time, but Goncalves has climbed the bridge in Angola.
He first managed the youth teams before being appointed coach of the senior team.
He reached the quarterfinals of the African Nations Cup last year, with his team receiving praise for their style of play.
Benni McCarthy explains why he will not lead the Harambee Stars so long
McCarthy was asked if she thought of growing up with Kenya how Goncalves had done with Angola.
The South African tactic said no. And for good reason.
McCarthy explained that he was still a young manager who wanted to put his skills there. Being a national team manager does not allow him to use this fully.

He admitted that he missed club football, where coaches work with players every day, unlike the national team manager, who gets players only once every international break or during international competitions like Chan.
“My expectation is one day to go back to managing club football. I want to do this every day. I want to have players every day. At the international level, you don’t get it.
When does Benni McCarthy’s contract expire?
The 47 -year -old, however, emphasized that his current goal is to bring success to Kenyan football even if he wants to return to clubs.
His current contract expires after the 2027 African Nations Cup, which Kenya will also participate in.
He also left the door open for the possibility of returning to Kenya after leaving.
“Maybe at the age of 70, I will return and I hope Kenya will take me for 10 or 15 years, but for now, I think I am too young to manage my whole life as the National Team Manager.”
