Nakuru: 5 people, including a newborn dying in an accident in Mbaruk area

Nakuru The newborn is one of five people who have been confirmed dead following a fatal accident on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

The accident on Monday, August 4, in the evening involved numerous vehicles in the Mbaruk area of Gilgil.

Nakuru County traffic control unit officer Allan Ogolla said the tragic accident involved a Toyota Fielder, Trela and Mercedes-Benz Actros.

How did the Mbaruk area accident occur?

According to Ogolla, the accident occurred when a Toyota Fielder, which passed other vehicles, collided face -to -face with a saloon car before hitting a trailer.

“The Toyota Fielder driver was passing a group of cars but was trapped before returning to his lane, and colliding face -to -face with a saloon car,” Ogolla said as reported by NTV.

Following the impact of the crash, five people, including two men, two women and an infant died instantly.

“For Luck Worse, five people in the Toyota Fielder died instantly. Were two men and two women, and a newborn baby, ” Said Ogolla.

According to the traffic chief, all victims were traveling to the Toyota Fielder and are feared that they belong to the same family.

Ogolla urged drivers who use the highway to be careful to avoid such fatal accidents.

“We have succeeded in removing the scene, and traffic congestion has returned to normal. We are calling on drivers to take more attention on the road,” Ogolla said.

The bodies of the victims were moved to the mortuary, awaiting identification as police were investigating.

How 3 family members died in Taita Taveta

In another sad news, three family members died following a fatal accident on the road to Funyi-Ghazi.

According to a police report, Oliver Mwasy, who was serving in the army, died with his brother and child.

Preliminary investigations showed that Oliver was driving the car when he failed to control it and overturned.
