Some residents were injured during the riot, with part of a crowd trying to oppose police action to disperse them.

Gachagua issued a strong statement condemning the incident, which he claims was coordinated by President and Interior Minister Kipchumba Murkomen.

“Once again, our public participation team meeting was negatively interrupted by the police, following the instructions of Mr William Ruto and his senior Kipchumba Murkomen,” Gachagua said.

The former MP accused Ruto of using security forces to direct the country to a dictatorial path.

According to Gachagua, the opposition will continue to volunteer to ensure Ruto fails in the next 2027 general election.
